That has its difficulties too, though.  I think the oldest known Emacs
source code (at least that is publicly available) is Emacs 16.sthg,
but I doubt there are any running executables left.  Steve Baur had
statically-linked Linux 1.2.13 executables going back to 18.55 at
least, but even if I have copies around somewhere I bet they don't run
on a modern kernel.

So what's the definition of "runnable"?
