I'm a little confused now.

I did see the press releases that say up to 4GB for the Japanese model, 
but since it is basically the same hardware as the European model, I had 
assumed that maybe I had read an early press release or something.

If the European HTC Magic can take up to 16GB, and as Godwin says SDHC 
should go up to 32GB assuming the software is there, why would the 
Japanese model be so restricted?

Do you think they choke it down so they can release models that support 
more GB later?

Or is it something that maybe future software updates would support?
