OK, counter is triggered by you, when you command to change region.
Right? Counter is NOT triggered when you try to play DVD. Simply, if
you DVD drive is set to region that differs from DVD you try to play,
it won't.

There're some hacks on the net, that allow you either to change RPC-2
to RPC-1 or reset counter. Hadn't tried any of these by myself.

That depends. Some computers come with region not set at all. So, when
you set it for your 1st DVD -- it's first time and you have 5
switches.
