I haven't tried GuixOS yet myself, but I've heard it described as "Nix the package manager but with Guile instead of Nix the language." Are there any benefits to Guix over Nix that you've found (other than the obvious superiority of Lisp, of course ;) )? Is evaluation of expressions faster? That's definitely the Achilles heel of Nix proper for anything complicated (like a monorepo build system--don't ask me how I know).
