You can only run one instance at a time. Ah, yeah, it begins to come back to me. I think it's the instance restriction that is the big annoyance in our environment. We need a minimum of 20 identical systems, and this restriction means that we need to have separate disk and configuration for each, even in a VM. We end up not really having any advantage over dual booting, and conventional wisdom (here) is still that "a boot a day keeps the blue screen away," so that's what we do -- there's no cost to rebooting since we do it anyway. YMMV. I just respond by avoiding Microsoft OSes like the plague.
