So if I call you mentally ill (as you did me), you won't take it
personally? Cool! You have a very thick skin!

What? The "psychological counsel instead of legal counsel" line? Do I need to flag things like that with <rhetoric /> tags to get you to realise that I am not a) serious and b) talking about you?

Yeah, okay, ignorance is bliss. My bad.

That is not what I am saying. But you seem to think that, since we are Linux users, we are ipso facto Microsoft haters. Which is not necessarily the case. I'd rather not talk about Microsoft at all, really, as it is slightly boring. But I'd really not like to see anti-MS FUD pervading this list, any more than I like anti-Open Source FUD pervading the mainstream media.

Godwin? Okay. Steve? No, please don't make me read that junk! It's
great technically but divorced from reality half the time!

Well... not sure how to answer that one. I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but Steve is, as you know, a professor of Economics, so I'd listen to what he says about Microsoft; you might learn something.

> they stick to "just the facts, ma'am"?

You have a bad sense of humor Josh. Better to stop watching inane old
TV shows and study reality instead!

Corny jokes are a part of the proud Unix tradition. Sorry you can't wince at a bad pun like the rest of us.

Anyway, it would be best to drop the subject! As you seem to be
suggesting, it is forbidden to say anything negative about wonderful
Microsoft on this list, so I'll try to tone it down, lest, um, what?

No-one has forbidden any such thing.

I'd like you to stop getting so hostile when people fail to take your
spew as Holy Writ. If you post something to a public mailing list,
you'd better be prepared for people to disagree with you. And you'd
better be able to handle that disagreement constructively, or you come
across as a whiny hot-head.

Josh
