That's what I said.  :-)  They're pretty close :-) :-) ... :-(

That's not what the market is for, unfortunately.  It's for giving
people what they are willing to pay for.

Well, yes and no.  I think Chris's model (God save us both) is the
scientific journal.  The distro should function as quality control, as
well as assembling stuff of interest in one place and making sure it
all works and plays well together.

I sympathize with that point of view.  Where I disagree with Chris is
that he apparently believes it is better to not do it at all if you
won't pay the price for 6-sigma quality.  I believe that most users
don't need (like hell I'm going to give them what they want, though,
they want Windows) 6-sigma quality.

I don't like the way FreeBSD screws up XEmacs.  :-)
