I am following steps on installing Japanese RPMs for RedHat6, so that I can input Japanese with Xemacs. I have successfully installed all of the RPMs listed below (except optional items), but don't know where to proceed from here. Canna seems to be booting up OK at boot time, but starting Xemacs causes a core dump. I don't mind using regular emacs if I knew how to set it to input Japanese. I suppose there should be a .emacs preference file or something like that in my home folder, but I don't find anything by that name. Not being very Linux savy, I don't know how to proceed from here. How can I set emacs (or Kedit for that matter) to input and display Japanese, and/or what can I do to get Xemacs to come up successfully? Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated!
