On RH and TL systems, /lib/cpp is a symlink to the correct cpp binary
which lives somewhere under /usr/lib/gcc-lib/...

no, it's not Russian, it's the GNU C-Compatible Compiler Preprocessor.
'man cccp' brings this up, as well as the instructions for 'cpp'.
Apparently they're the same, as they share a manpage and only one
commandline is shown in the SYNOPSIS section... :)
