On most systems there is a single "trash" directory for each user, plus an index for each which tells where to send each file back to if you decide to undelete it. The logical guess then, is "the .trash directory under the 'my stuff' directory." So far, so obvious? (Except maybe the "my stuff" part: remember, Unix is a *multi**user* system, so there could be my stuff and your stuff and her stuff....) The rest is just a spelling lesson. "The place for my stuff" is called "home" or the "home directory", and is spelled $HOME (there's a method to this magic, but surely you don't want to have any truck with that science and engineering stuff, right?) "$HOME" can also be spelled "~". And *my* home can be spelled "~steve". You can also give an address, like "30 Van de Bogart Rd.", or more likely "/home/steve". Oh yeah, "under" is not spelled U-N-D-E-R, it's spelled "/". Not very simple, but boy is it *short*. Short is good, right? :-) > This is me from my desktop. Yay!
