Sony sold a Linux kit for the PS2 for awhile. It was $300 and came with a keyboard, mouse, hard drive, ethernet adapter, and a disc with Linux on it. The PS2 is rather memory-starved to run as a regular system, but i do have Linux installed on mine and it does work. It has been awhile since i've booted the Linux installation, but i seem to remember it being based on a really old version of Red Hat (say around 5.x or 6.x, before the numbers started over with Fedora). When the Linux kit was new the software was already quite old. I wish there was a full Debian port for the PS2. I don't wish it quite strongly enough to justify the effort of making it happen myself, unfortunately. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dan Ramaley Dial Center 118, Drake University Network Programmer/Analyst 2407 Carpenter Ave +1 515 271-4540 Des Moines IA 50311 USA
