actually this seems true

I just tried to boot into Win2k to watch a pagent via flash8 but
couldn't.

title        Windows2k
 rootnoverify    (hd0,0)
 chainloader +1

used to work

then I flipped the drives (master to second and vice versa)

now

title        Windows2k
 rootnoverify    (hd1,0)
 chainloader +1

just gives me an error

didn't realize until this message that flipping the disks had such an
effect.

...anyway...seems true
