The only thing I see is that there seems to be an extra space between
rootnovery and the (hd1,0).  However, I don't think that would cause a
problem (though I could be wrong, I haven't used grub in awhile.)

However, I've always used 

rootnoverify (hd1,0), that is, with only one space (usually called white
space) between the rootnoverify and the (hd1,0).

That could be, but I was under the impression that XP could boot from
the second drive.  (Once again, I could be wrong.)
