Quick correction on that (as I tried it and got an error message) :)
To add the uid, you first do gpg edit-key <keyname>.
For example
gpg edit-key Scott
This gives me the key for the scottro@example.com Then you're given
a > prompt. That's where you can put in the adduid.
You then go through the steps Jonathan describes in his QND guide, real
name, comment if you like, email address.
