As for the usability... Does anyone have any good pointers for resources
(books, papers, webpages) on usability of computers? And i dont mean
ergonomics (ie how to arange keyboard and monitor) or webpages (how to
make your website quickly readable and browsable), but really on how to
make a standard, state of the art GUI program running on a 08/15 desktop
system.

Also appreciated would be stuff on the usability and expressivnes
of programming languages.

For some reason i was not able to find anything of those kinds until now.
Either i'm searching the wrong way or there isn't any. Ok, for programming
languages, i found some research done in the 80s... Like comparisons of
Basic and some custom calculator language...
