I don't think you're likely to come across Japanese PostScript documents that call on the Wadalab fonts directly. Instead they will normally call a Japanese Postscript font by one of the two names on the _left_ side in kconfig.ps. The patched Ghostscript then uses that file to match this name to a "physical" font, which is _again_ aliased in the vfontcap file: kconfig.ps is just the first step in the font search. Every document you come across should use your TrueType font (to set text that is nominally in Japanese Postscript).
