Well last night I sat down and started playing with xdm 1. Background of XDM Went to Directory /var/X11/lib/xdm (I think) (do a find / -name xdm -print ) Edit XSetup_0 File killall xearth ; /usr/local/bin/xearth & This adds xearth in the background of xdm .. you can do xv as well Maybe there is a better way for xkill 2. bpp 16 I was tired of writing startx -- -bpp 16 So Edit XServer file in the same xdm directory above and add -bpp 16 after the X Server Command regards leo glynn@example.com
