Any english speaking Toshiba warranty places Ted> that won't balk at a Toshiba America model? ;) Well, the opposite tack simply does not work. A friend had a Japanese Toshiba whose disk went to Acapulco when he was in Santa Barbara :-(. The Toshiba America guys were happy to take a look at the machine, got it back to him in 48 hours (and even paid the return postage), but they didn't have the right hardware or software or something to check out the disk. So no help. Japanese repair shops tend to be a little more balky about that kind of thing.... -- Stephen John Turnbull University of Tsukuba Yaseppochi-Gumi Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/ Tennodai 1-1-1, Tsukuba, 305 JAPAN turnbull@example.com
