Redhat Installation

Make sure you have glyph, control-panel, netcfg, timetool, usercfg apps. These
are the GUI apps that do all the fancy setup and config for you. Therefore, you
will need X-Winows up and running too.
After you have this up and running, you need to get the rpm, cpio, rpmconvert
binaries from the upgrade directory under the RedHat directories. run
rpmconvert, which converts the rpm database to the 3.0.3 version.
Then you can run the upgrade script and it will upgrade what ever you have
installed. From there you can add or remove rpms at will.

I ran into the same thing here. Had an old CDROM version.
