I was curious why Microsoft decided to put Windows Subsystem for Linux
(WSL) within their Windows operating system.  I thought they would
want to ignore the existence of Linux.  But instead, they put this in.

I have heard of a few people who were interested in Linux, but decided
to get "Linux-lite" by using WSL within the Windows operating system
they were already using.  So, in that sense, it was a success for
Microsoft...some people who would have considered Linux are just happy
with WSL.

Even so, I'm surprised they put that in.  I wonder if a "Windows
Subsystem for Mac" is in the future.  :-)
