Sorry for the delay in replying.  I have been away from this problem for 
a few days.  I was asking about VirtualBox.  Here's what the web site 
has to say about doing this:

but ... there are a lot of unspoken / unwritten assumptions made by the 
author that I _think_ I can guess but don't want to bet my HDD on just yet.
