TLUG,
Fortunately, this happened on my MythTV machine, so no crucial data is
at stake here.
I have the home directory mounted on a separate partition. There was an
additional partition I didn't need anymore, so I removed it and resized
the home partition to take up the extra space.
But the home partition got reformatted in the process. There was one
user directory, called "mythtv", and now it's gone.
So when I try to boot the machine, it gives me all sorts of warnings and
mayhem about not finding home directories. When all is said and done, I
end up at a command prompt.
I tried to go into the home directory and create a directory called
"mythtv", but it said that it was a "read only filesystem".
Is there a way I can get the home partition mounted, and get my user
directory back in there?
