In Gentoo, it is as simple as "emerge mplayerplug-in". I have
encountered the odd website for which embedded WMA did not work, but
the vast majority does without a hitch.

This is provided you are using Firefox / Mozilla / Sea Monkey / Galeon
/ etc., of course.
