*Role*

UNIX Systems Administrator

*Responsibilities*

* Install/Maintain/Support UNIX based servers in Tokyo and Asia Pacific
* Maintain and support various UNIX-based tools
* Create/update documentation and procedures
* Analyze assets to maintain a constantly up-to-date technical environment
* Ensuring effectiveness of monitoring systems
* Evaluate and propose improvements to the UNIX infrastructure in
Tokyo and Asia Pacific
* Administer part of the applications requiring UNIX administration knowledge

*Requirements*

* Deep knowledge of UNIX platforms, specifically Solaris or Linux (RedHat)
* Ability to configure and set up UNIX network services: DNS, NIS,  
NTP, sendmail
* Scripting experience in shell or Perl
* Database knowledge is lovely, but not necessary
* Practical knowledge of Windows platforms would also be beneficial

* Environment*

* 250 UNIX servers (Solaris and Linux RedHat)
* Network services management, NIS, DNS, Sendmail, NTP, NFS, Samba
* Legato Networker backup system
