Reiserfs tends to be resource intensive but fast. This seems to make it more sensitive to hardware problems. The only time I have had problems with reiserfs was on hardware that had insufficient cooling and bad memory. This seem to be a similar situation to a lot of the sob stories, i.e. reiserfs was uses to squeeze a little more speed out of an already overclocked, overtaxed system. Edward
