Just a short note to say that Kubuntu 6.06 seems pretty good so far. A
few comments though.
One thing I'm in the middle of trying to figure out is the difference
between:
1) Erase entire disk: IDE1 master (hda)
- and:
2) Erase entire disk and use LVM: IDE1 master (had)....
Or more specifically whether the LVM choice would be better. If it's
better across the board, then why is there the choice of having it or
not having it? I'll poke around on the Internet fome more, so no need
to answer that question really.
With Adept, I'm getting these error messages:
Sorry - Adept
Could not find mime type
application/octet-stream
Error - Adept
No mime types installed.
But after getting through those two error messages, it seems to work
alright.....
When adding new packages, you get this:
Media Change - Adept
Please insert the disc labeled 'Kubuntu 6.06_Dapper
Drake_-Alpha i386 (20060331.1)' in the
drive '/cdrom/' and press enter
It would be nicer if it just pulled everything from off-line and didn't
require putting in that disk....
Otherwise, I like it just fine!
