Apparently, there are a number of automatic p2p mirrors.

of which s86950882.onlinehome.us.nyud.net looks like someone 
with a web server trying to hide from their ISP that perhaps 
does not allow servers for ordinary accounts.

I am downloading http://www.polarcloud.com/coralx/rikaichan_0_5_7_.xpi 
right now. It goes in fits and spurts, averaging about 3KByte/s so far.

so now it looks more like you are dealing with a slow p2p thing. 
You might be dealing with out of date DNS entries for peer 
servers that come and go. 

I think the answer is to just keep trying.
