Here is the draft:
http://www.tlug.jp/docs/linux-format_2006-01.txt
It is probably a little on the long side--276 words where Linux Format
wants "around 250"--but I don't think much can be trimmed. Suggestions
are welcome, but I definitely want to keep the following ideas:
- The spirit of early TLUG: the founders have every right to be proud
and excited about what they did
- The whirlwind tour of some of the highlights of TLUG's 12-year existence
- The enumeration of projects and members that we are especially proud
of (if I am missing something big here, please point it out)
- The invitation for others to join us (pointing out that TLUG
membership is free)
I welcome comments and suggestions, and recommend that you make them
onlist (reply to this thread, please) so that the process can be open.
Please note that I promised Linux Format that:
> I can get it done and submitted to you by Monday morning (your
> time--Monday evening, ours). Would that be OK?
so the deadline for revision suggestions must necessarily be 17:00 on Monday.
Also, please pick through the pictures from past meetings:
http://www.tlug.jp/meetings.php
and nominate your favourites (please just post the links!), as we need
two pictures to go along with the text. I recommend that one picture
be our ever-so-kawaii logo.
And I'm out.
