Hierarchical views that can be exported to linked web pages would be nice, but like you wrote, when firefighting, one cannot shop too long for software, and development is out of the question. I need to update and document this network quickly, and I am already acquainted with Dia, so I think I will begin with Dia for a diagram and OOo for some spreadsheets. I will turn the spreadsheets into a postgresql database later. Thank you again for response. I was looking into Tkined when I read it, and I noticed that most of the software in the article I linked to has not been updated since the article was written. The only other option I am still considering is ArgoUML. I would really like to get into UML, and if this network diagram can be a foot in the door, a reason to get started, that would be great.
