TLUG, I'm looking to buy a new computer, with the intention of installing Ubuntu Linux on it. I'm looking at PCs on Prime PC ( http://www.primepc.jp ) because they seem reasonably priced. I don't need a lot of peripherals or anything. I'm looking at theier mid level entry PCs priced around 60,000 yen. I'm wondering if anyone had any advice on buying a Linux-ready computer in Tokyo. Also, on a related note. I notice they're selling Athlon 64 bit processors. But from what I've read on the CentOS mailing list that I belong to, a 64 bit processor would require special builds for any applications run on it. I'm just a home user with general needs. Is a 64 bit processor perhaps not worthwhile for me? Dave
