I'm thinking it might be better for me to begin using Debian due to more of those in-the-know in the group using it and also due to the problems I'm having with SuSE 9.3. Here's what I've done so far: 1) Downloaded and burned 16(!) disks (14+2). 2) Successfully installed the program with both the "Net Install" disk and also the first disk of the set of 14 (in two independent tests, not one combination). 3) At the command line I can log in, check the memory with "free" and log out with "exit". 4) Um... and here's why I called this e-mail "Debian-101" - how do I get something graphical like KDE and what in the world is on those 14(!) disks? Basically I need Mozilla, FireFox, & OpenOffice. Idiot-Lyle
