Just use kinput2 and not kinput, and not gedit. :D Also, echo "XMODIFIERS=@example.com=kinput2 LANGUAGE=ja_JP LC_CTYPE=ja_JP LC_ALL=ja_JP ${1+"$@"}" > japanese && chmod +x japanese should in theory give you a script that would allow you to type ./japanese mozilla in order to start mozilla or many other programs in Japanese mode. If you're absolutely sure that @example.com doesn't work, try @example.com But use the exact line I pasted first. Also, make sure that both cannaserver (or canna-something) is running, and kinput2 -xim -kinput -canna as well. ps -aux | grep for them or something. -- そんなお茶目さんには罰ゲーム生蛸パンツ十分!
