Done (Jonathan, *excellent* QDG!). Now, is this recognised as GPG signed by 
anyone but Scott and me? :-) Using KMail 1.3.2 (KDE 2.2.2), not patched Mutt. 
Tested this just to be sure, and OE displays the test message as plain text 
(inline, not in an attachment).
