I've heard that the rxvt family don't work well with > kinput2. rxvt works well here with kinput2. I use Canna35b2, kinput2-v3.1-alpha1, and rxvt-2.7.3, all compiled from source. I configured rxvt with: ./configure --prefix=/opt/stow/rxvt-2.7.3 --enable-everything --enable-languages --enable-xim --enable-xterm-scroll and started kinput2 with: /usr/bin/X11/kinput2 -xim -kinput -canna & > I think kterm cheats, but for most apps you need to set > XMODIFIERS="@example.com=kinput2" in the environment to use kinput2 as a XIM > input manager. Yes, for rxvt it is necessary to set XMODIFIERS="@example.com=kinput2". I missed this for quite some time because Japanese input in kterm, XEmacs, and Mozilla all worked fine without setting XMODIFIERS, therefore I assumed that there was something wrong with rxvt. But I was mistaken, since I did set XMODIFIERS, Japanese input in rxvt works just fine. -- Mike Fabian <mike.fabian@example.com> <mike@example.com> -------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: May 13 (Sat) 13:30 Temple University Japan * Topic: Crypto and Security Speaker: Chris Sekiya Next Nomikai Meeting: June 16 (Fri), Tengu TokyoEkiMae. -------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
