tlug: 2 questions

I have 2 questions I'm seeking answers for.  I'm
running OpenLinux 2.4 with WindowMaker 0.61.2.

1.  I'm trying to get kinput2 work with canna.  I
compiled both of them succesfully.  Cannaserver is
running.  kinput2 actually can be started, but I don't
see ANYTHING at all.
When I copy .canna file in my home dir as shown in
Linux-Nihongo, kinput2 complains that it can't find
roma-kana henkan file, default.cbp.  If I don't have
that file, I don't get any errors.  Either way,
nothing shows up on screen.  What do I need to set
next?

2.  I'm trying to get mutt with pop server.  I just
set this in my .muttrc
set pop_host="pop.mail.yahoo.com"
and start mutt...
and it still reads the local spool dir.  How can I
make it contact the pop host?
