Marcus that did the trick. When on battery power it runs nice and cool. 
When it comes to running it with the battery charging the laptop still 
seemed to run a bit hot so I changed the High in this rule to Low:

[Rule]
name=AC Rule
ac=on                    # (on/off)
profile=On Demand Low
[/Rule]

And now it runs at a reasonably cool temp to the touch, for charging the battery.
