if I were you, i'd subscribe to their mailing list and lurk for a bit.

The web site www.nagoyalinux.org asks you to subscribe to their mailing
list if you wish to join the group. That's not an entirely unreasonable
thing to do, as you'd get some idea what the group is like before you
actually go to their meeting.
