Literally, "it is not that the consequence is to die."  More
idiomatically, "it isn't like it will kill (you|him|her|it)."

I don't know if 「でもなし」 is a contraction or other equivalent of
「でもないし」.  If it isn't, so that 「なし」 becomes an emphatic
"none", I'd be tempted to make it "no way is that gonna kill you!"
