Netscape seems to do Bad Things to its own pref file from time to time
as it crashes. When Netscape starts crashing on me too often, my
standard remedy is to delete preferences.js; this usually restores
Netscape to its original not-quite-too-unstable-for-comfort status.
I've been doing this for as long as I can remember, and it still works
with 4.7.
