You can make the messages go away by adding these lines to your /etc/conf.modules file: alias net-pf-3 off # if you don't need amateur radio support alias net-pf-4 off # if you don't use the ipx module alias net-pf-5 off # if you don't use the appletalk module (This is a frequently asked question. I believe it is documented in the /usr/src/linux/Documentation tree somewhere.) > Would this module not found be responsible for the machine to freeze? I don't think so, but certain types of auto-probing can cause unexpected results when it is looking for your network card. You can add 'alias' and 'options' lines to /etc/conf.modules to tell it explicitly where to find your card. -- Jim Tittsler, Tokyo ICQ: 5981586 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: February 13 (Sat), 12:30 place: Temple Univ. ** presentation: XEmacs, by Steven Baur and Martin Buchholz Next Nomikai: March 19 (Fri), 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 ------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://tlug.linux.or.jp Sponsor: PHT
