I was suggesting the 'all systems will be at least 64-bit' line might be overly optimistic -- by analogy to the programmers back in the 60s and 70s who wrote (e.g.) COBOL programs with two-byte date fields (or their bosses who told them to do it that way), never imagining that those programs would still be in use at the end of the century. I thought it was clear enough, but I guess not.
