Under RH/TL, smbfs.o is part of the standard kernel package... the 'smbfs' package just provides the user-space tools like 'smbmount' and 'smbumount'. The samba guys say that 'smbsh' makes all this obsolete, but I think that the ability to definitively mount a share/unmount a share is still desirable. Esp. since you can smbmount over a WAN, where smbsh will only let you browse the LAN (unless there's some funky parameters to it that I haven't found yet) -- just like Windows itself. -------------------------------------------------- Scott M.
