Re: tlug: E-mail

Back to being about e-mail.
I'm a little conceptually confused right now, which is making it hard for
me to make use of the instruction manuals with the software.
Right now my computer has a few virtual domains on it. Two i've created,
and a couple of others that other people are doing.
Let's say i have domain_First.com and domain_Second.com. And let's say i
have a user called "fred". Does this mean that fred automatically (or at
least without further configuration) has two e-mail addresses:
fred@example.com AND fred @example.com And if this is the case,
are the e-mail's going to the same place? If this is the case, i'm confused.
So far as i know, all mail coming in goes (or at least SHOULD) go to
/var/spool/mail/[user]. But [user] is not a directory, it's some kind of
file. One seems to be automatically created every time a new user is added
to the system. i don't see how this one file is handling more than one
domain name.
Or maybe i have some insight, because when i got sendmail and pop
(hopefully) running, i tried sending an e-mail to myself at d-rave.com (my
domain). The response i got was this:
The following message could not be delivered because the address
	dave@example.com was rejected by host d-rave.com (202.238.0.248).
	551 we do not relay
We do not relay? Huh?
I need a little general explanation to help me make conceptual sense of
this situation before i hit the software again. I hope someone can make it
a little clearer to me.
