Many thanks to Jim, Rex, Scott, Andrew and Tom for pointing out that "L1-A" or "Stop-A" is the magic key combination to bring a Sparc around to the PROM prompt. It worked "ok", and I was able to carry out the install yesterday evening. Much enjoyed the "Redneck" install messages from RedHat. Yup. All I need to do now is string a bunch of spare SCSI disks off the Sparc, install Coda, and write some scripts to take care of creating our accounts here. And design the workstations, write a few more scripts and troubleshoot the installation. But first, it's time for breakfast :) Cheers, -- -x80 Frank G Bennett, Jr @@ Faculty of Law, Nagoya Univ () email: bennett@example.com Tel: +81[(0)52]789-2239 () WWW: http://rumple.soas.ac.uk/~bennett/ --------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: 20 November, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Technical Meeting: January, 1999 (details TBA) --------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsor: PHT, makers of TurboLinux http://www.pht.co.jp
