Hmm ...

Hardly a model of clarity, is it?  :)  Looking into that
subdirectory, both Imakefile and the Makefile generated by xmkmf;
make Makefiles list all of these files, including the "egg" ones
in the variable CCDEF_FILES.  Since they all end up in the
finished code already, it hardly seems to make sense to replace
one set with another.  Also, there's a ccdef.katakana.egg, with
no corresponding "ccdef.katakana" ...
