Technical literature in Germany is mostly written in English. Later on he did a German translation, "Linux fuer Netzwerker". I have the English version. > I do have a question though. I use it to simulate and test installations. I have an old 386SX20 note with 4MB RAM around, a slow bugger and I use it to simulate an ISP and to test my config. This saves money and at the same time allows an easy trackdown of config problems ( you just can watch at the server side ). > guess that is also in the Networking book. Of course. This is a PPP configuration for fixed IP addresses. > On a slight side-note, is there a script out there to 'pon', 'smail <get > mail option>', and 'poff'? Well, you could make a script that does a regular "ifconfig" to detect when ppp0 is up, then starts sendmail, and when sendmail terminates, does a poff. No problem. > Thanks Karl. I am beginning to be very amazed at the technical prowess of > this group. Too bad there isn't a local chapter here in Nara-ken... I am located in Munich, Germany, BTW........so if you have more problems, just jump over here. Those ridiculous 20000 km.....
