Yes, type what you want.  It will first appear in hiragana.  Type
ctrl-n.  This will convert the entire phrase to katakana.

Yes, you can type thi.  thi corresponds to ティ

Here, I am not sure, but I do think you will have to look for the
key mappings that canna is using.  They are located in /usr/local/canna.
I am not sure of the exact procedure.  I will look into this though.
If you find it before I do let me know.  I also want to change that.
