If backup is a chore, why not buy a new harddrive and install Linux on 
it. If dos partitions are properly partitioned, you can manipulate non 
bootup partition easily by linux so renting a hard disk is
enough. Other options which can repartition without a backup is a
matter of courage. I have no opinion about it.
