Hi, I've found a working AtermIW60 init string that works under Linux, kind of.. atq0v1x3$n1=1&d1 I'm connected now at 64Kbps. This is fine for me, I don't think I'll use the 128Kbps feature too often unless I'm install Linux over the network or downloading some new software. Hmm, actually, maybe I will use it. Anyway, I'm still having some problems with the serial port. The chat script will hang at strange times. Sometimes it will hang when expecting the OK and just wait there. I wonder if this is a serial port speed issue? I'm specifying 38400. I wonder if this is a funny speed? I almost feel that there is some serial buffer or something I need to clear out. /usr/sbin/pppd connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v -s "" atq0v1x3$n1=0 OK ATD53617270 CONNECT ' user craig /dev/modem 38400 crtscts May 10 09:59:01 cow pppd[11253]: pppd 2.3.2 started by root, uid 0 May 10 09:59:02 cow chat[11254]: send (atq0v1x3=0^M) May 10 09:59:03 cow chat[11254]: expect (OK) May 10 09:59:48 cow chat[11254]: alarm May 10 09:59:48 cow chat[11254]: Failed May 10 09:59:48 cow pppd[11253]: Connect script failed May 10 09:59:49 cow pppd[11253]: Exit. When the system starts up I get this identifier: Serial driver version 4.13 with no serial options enabled tty00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A tty01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A I wonder if there are any good options I should specify? Right now I'm using kernel 2.0.33, but I've compiled kernel 2.1.101. That kernel requires the use of pppd2.3.5. Unfortunately, I've not been able to compile pppd2.3.5. I'm still kind of confused about the proper of use setserial. Is there some command I can give to maybe zap the serial buffer or clear the settings? Well, while I was looking for the answer to this, I found some neat things.
