But if you're interested in a book-length treatment, try "The Gentle
Art of Verbal Self-Defense" series by Suzette Haden Elgin.  Her
"linguist" series of sci-fi novels is also interesting, but must be
taken with a grain of salt.  Also recommended is "Hellspark" by Janet
Kagan, a somewhat more plausible sci-fi novel.

Any information on "Hellspark" sequels will be rewarded with a large
quantity of the beverage of your choice, even if I have to Takkyubin
it.
